Family Sphingidae (Sphinx Moths)

Hyles lineata or White-lined Sphinx moth 
feeding on Gentiana parryl in the Santa Fe 
Mountains at 10,000 feet.

Hemaris thetis with clear wings feeding on Iris missouriensis 
or Rocky Mountain iris. These wonderful moths can hover 
like a hummingbird and are fast flyers. This moth 
was photographed at 10,000 feet in the Santa Fe Mountains.
